This black plastic side or accent chair is the perfect modern chair accent. It reminds me of my favorite 1960's decorating. Kind of like a chair you would see in an old episode of I Dream of Jeannie or Batman. So I guess you could consider it modern, but it could also be considered retro or maybe even retro modern.
Never the less it's just a cool chair. This chair is made out of black ABS plastic and it has a white PVC cushion. The plastic is fade resistant, so go ahead and sit it next to that sunny window in your hip modern loft apartment.
This chair weighs about 25 pounds and the dimensions are 19" x 16" x 32". The cushion is 16" x 16". This chair isn't cheap, so I would make sure that this is the style I was going for before purchasing. If anyone has a similar chair I would love to hear their reviews below.

If you are a fan of modern design but are on a budget you will love this molded plastic rocking chair in white. This chair is a replica of the Eames molded rocking chair by Herman Miller. If you are not familiar with the Eames they were the husband and wife design team that moved forward with modern design while other designers were looking backwards.
Charles Eames was an architect and true renaissance man when it came to design, science, film, and computers. Ray Eames was his second wife and partner with most of his late design collections. They were constantly experimenting and were big fans of modern design. They embraced technology and were interested in working with new materials, especially plastics.

These were the first industrially manufactured plastic chairs and they were designed to have a one piece unit that cradles the body on a a steel frame. These come in arm and side chairs and rockers and regular chairs. These chairs were introduced in 1948 and have endured to this day as a shining example of the timeless beauty of practical modern design.
If you are a fan of the Herman Miller Eames chairs they are still being manufactured today, but they will set you back about 479$. You can also get these replicas of the originals for much less. For the price of the Herman Miller Eames you can get a set of these or at least a pair.
These molded plastic rocking chairs feature a molded ABS plastic seat on a steel base frame. The rocker base is solid Ash wood. This is a high quality reproduction of the original that won't set you back quite as much, but still allows you to enjoy the best of classic modern design.
