In 1979 childhood friends Les Mandelbaum and Paul Rowan founded Umbra. This was a company born out of a need for affordable modern design. Products that will appeal to a young hip crowd that wants to be surrounded by nice things, but doesn't have a large decorating budget.
Rowan was searching for inexpensive window blinds and ended up created printed paper shades. Entrepreneur Mandlebaum liked the idea so much that Umbra was born. The idea was to create modern products that would appeal to a sense of style and limited budget.
For the past two decades Umbra has created modern household items with an eye on design. In 2008 they introduced a wide range of eco-friendly products using recycled and degradable products.
The Umbra OH Polypropylene Chair presents an opportunity for you to own a modern work of art without going in debt. The OH chair is designed by Karin Rashid and is patented and is part of the permanent MOMO design collection.
The seat is made from high-impact polypropylene and the legs are powder coated steel. The feet are nylon so that they can slide and not snag or scratch the floor. These chairs are available in a range of colors, but we like the cool eco friendly Go Green. The Umbra OH Chair is a great way to own and use practical design and art.
