Decorating With Plastic Chairs

They are durable, stackable, and inexpensive. They are plastic chairs. Even though you can find them on the cheap and often get free ones from other peoples cast offs, plastic chairs were once thought of as a designer item.
In fact designers call the one piece plastic chairs the monobloc chair. Folklore has it that the first all plastic chair was designed in 1965 by an Italian designer named Joe Colombo. Then in 1967 the first one piece plastic chair was designed by Vico Magistretti.
It took a lot of engineering and design skills to develop these first chairs. But by the 1980's they were being mass produced. Today they are mass produced in many countries and the prices have dropped considerably.
You can find these chairs in many styles, and colors. Only to be rivaled by the different uses that we find for these chairs. The ubiquitous white plastic chair can be seen on many porches and back yards and patios.
You will often see a stack of them in someone's garage just waiting to be used when extra seating is required. But that doesn't mean these chairs are only for front porches and extra seating. They can be used to create many stylish seating areas.
If you have children's plastic chairs they can be arranged around a work table in a child's play room. Which can be used for arts and crafts, reading, studying, or just a play area where having seats and a table are useful.
If you have an extra sitting room such as a sunroom you can use these inexpensive chairs to design seating areas and places to read near the window. You don't have to settle for drab white either. You can find beautiful resin chairs in all colors of the rainbow.
They can also be used to create different seating areas in your yard and garden. I use brightly colored resin chairs to form a conversation area, in the part of my garden, where my bird feeders are located. It's very calming to sit back with a good friend and have a warm conversation while birds are frolicking in the background.
If you have an open area in your home or a modern apartment these can be the perfect accessory for desks and work areas. Don't let the availability and inexpensive price fool you. Plastic chairs are a modern marvel and can be used in creative ways to meet all of your design needs.
